How many replies a day to grow on X
I write about 75 to 100 replies a day. In the 28 days to 1 Nov 2026 that was 2.1K replies, about 75 a day, and in the last 7 of them 703, about 100 a day. The count matters less than where you reply and what you add.
My numbers
From my X analytics, read on 1 Nov 2026:
| Measure | Last 7 days | Last 28 days |
|---|---|---|
| Replies written | 703 | 2.1K |
| Per day | about 100 | about 75 |
| Impressions | 89.6K | 376.7K |
- Followers went from 2,004 on 25 Oct to 2,170 on 1 Nov 2026: 166 new followers in a week of 703 replies, about 24 per 100 replies.
- Over the whole run, from 125 followers on 5 Sep to 2,004 on 25 Oct 2026, almost all of it came from replies I wrote by hand.
- My own posts usually get 200 to 1,700 views. One 8-word reply of mine got 47K views.
How many you should do
Pick a number you can keep up every day, even on a busy one. Showing up daily matters more than one big day. Add more as finding posts and writing gets faster. A reply that adds nothing doesn't help, however many you send.
The pace rule
- Never faster than about one reply a minute.
- Never at a steady rhythm. Spread your replies through the day.
- Write each one yourself. X's rules don't allow unsolicited automated replies.
Read X's automation rules before you use any tool on your account.
Spend each reply where it can be seen
A hundred replies under posts nobody reads earn nothing. Reply to posts with 12 to 60 replies, where a reply gets about 0.5 to 2.8% of the post's views. More in who to reply to on X.
Track followers per 100 replies
Count your replies and your new followers each week. Followers per 100 replies tells you whether more replies are paying off, or whether it's time to reply in better places instead. The rest of the routine: how to grow on X.
